Hi my name is jeff i really like how you all have the board set up. Any way i own a really beat up simplicity lawn mower i took the deck off more ground clearance and take it off roading on my 46 acres very fun. Since it didnt come with a light i stole one off of my old moped doesnt run anymore. I also made sure the voltage was right 12 volts hooked it up made my own mounts and works wonderfully. All i need now is a silonoid and a new seat. This thing is so muddy its actually really funny to see i have to get going now been on for 5 hours and sick of computer hope to hear from you soon.

I dont know if my tractor has peerless transaxles it is an older simplicity 1977 to be exact it has a 7 and a half horse briggs engine. My pully that is hooked up to the rear end is bent it might have gotten bent when i was rock crawling but i dont know. My tranny slips once in a while too i put it in gear and it doesnt go so i have to put it into another gear and slam it back into 3rd and it goes. I might rebuild it this summer make some modifications maybe a new pully one that isnt bent. And for paint im going to sand all of the old paint off with a power sander put 2 coats of primer on 2 coats of blue spray paint im painting stripes and two coats of black. I will post pics of it when i get done with the repaint. My terrain consists of rocks mud water because there is a swamp and a pond its also really bumpy it is a wooded area with tree stumps because some trees fell down. I ripped a couple of small rotted trees out with the tractor and hauled them out in the trailor. Its a regent so its a smaller simplicity but its pretty strong im suprised it lasted this long without breaking down. I was thinking of buying a snorkal for the carb and a long pipe for the exaust so i could make it come out of the top like a smoke stack so i dont get flooded when going through deep water. The hood is all black right now i have a crome gas cap and a orange shifter knob from a old john deer that no longer ran on it i also have 1 black rim on the back one white tire popped. ....

You might consider a very nice shade of green for the final color. ....

77, I think I will be off roading in my Gravely lawnmower soon also. Wifey is not in agreement to spend about $10K (after taxes and add-ons) for a Polaris Sportsman X2. She is probably right, I get the winter blues and look for toys, but spring and the JD4310 are around the corner!

Anyway I purchased a service manual today for the K301 Kohler engine on my Gravely and may tear it apart to get the thing to run right again. It moves along at a nice speed in 4th gear! And after getting my "lifetime warranty" Troy Built tiller running again today I am on a roll! ....
